According to rumours in the media, Karachi, not Multan, would host the opening ceremony for the eighth season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
The opening ceremony and the first game of the 2018 PSL season were both scheduled to be held in Multan, but that is likely to change.
The National Bank Cricket Arena in Karachi will soon play host to one of the biggest cricket festivals, according to the newly appointed PCB management.
Following the three-match ODI series against New Zealand, the management will reveal the new schedule.
The round matches will be played in the Multan Cricket Stadium, as agreed upon by the PCB executive committee and the teams.
According to a source from last week, PSL matches will be held simultaneously in Karachi and Multan up to February 26. After that, the location will switch from Multan to Lahore.
During the second half of the tournament in March, Rawalpindi will host its share of PSL matches. The tournament’s semifinals and championship game are scheduled to take place in Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium.
On December 15, the draught ceremony for the eighth season took place, and several franchises selected notable cricketers from across the world.
Under the direction of left-arm pacer Shaheen Shah, the Lahore Qalandars, who won the competition for the first time last year, will defend their championship.
