Lahore Qalandars made history when they became the first team to win the PSL championship in consecutive seasons.
Lahore finally managed to pull off the victory in front of their fervent home crowd in the nail-biting final between Sultans and Lahore.
As soon as Mirza Tahir Baig fell, Lahore had a bad start. Before Multan struck during the middle stage of the innings, Abdullah Shafique and Fakhar Zaman rebuilt the innings by taking wickets at regular intervals.
Shaheen Afridi, the captain, stepped up to the plate and teamed up brilliantly with Abdullah to bring the team total to 200. Shaheen and Abdullah both scored half-centuries while confusing the Multan attack.
Usman Khan and Mohammad Rizwan led the charge against the Lahore bowling unit as Sultans, on the other hand, got off to a strong start. Rilee Rossouw played brilliantly as he hit a half-century to give Sultans the upper hand. Lahore was able to regain control of the game thanks to Rashid Khan, who took the wickets of Rossouw and Rizwan.
From that point on, Lahore tightened their hold on us as they constrained the Multan batting unit, but an amazing blitz by Abbas Afridi and Khushdil Shah moved them closer to the goal. Zaman Khan’s outstanding final over gave Qalandars a one-run victory.
