For the exhibition game against Quetta Gladiators, Peshawar Zalmi, a PSL team, has selected wicket-keeper batsman Kamran Akmal as head coach.
No PSL franchise has chosen the right-handed hitter for the upcoming eighth season. Since the franchise league’s debut, he has been a member of the Zalmi team. Wahab Riaz, a prominent Pakistani bowler, said in an interview last week that the Zalmi management was eager to choose Kamran Akmal as the competition’s coach this year.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) opted last month to stage an exhibition game in Quetta to commemorate Kashmir Day rather than designate the city as one of the PSL’s official locations this season.
The exhibition game is slated to take place at Bugti Stadium on February 5. Balochistan will host a game for the first time in the PSL’s eight-year existence.
The names of the players who are still available were announced by both teams yesterday, and the cricket board also announced that PTV Sports will broadcast the game live.
It is important to note that the Lahore-born cricketer, who is the second-highest scorer in the PSL with 1,972 runs in 74 innings, played for the Men in Yellow from 2016 to 2022.
