Imad Wasim, the captain of the Karachi Kings, has expressed his satisfaction with Mohammad Rizwan, the T20 captain of the Multan Sultans.
On Monday, Wasim stated to the media in Karachi that they were unable to find a spot for the wicketkeeper-batsman in the opening position when he was with the Kings.
“We couldn’t fit Rizwan in the starting spot, and we didn’t want to play him in the middle of the order either. Wasim stated, “I didn’t want to switch out the opening duo of Alex Hales and Babar Azam.”
“I never asserted that Rizwan is a bad player. I’m glad he had the opportunity to open for a different brand and that he disproved everyone. I’m glad he left us and proved everyone incorrect because he would not have had the opportunity to open himself if he had stayed with us,” the man said.
Wasim has stated that the choice to trade Babar Azam to Peshawar Zalmi was not made by him.
“I have nothing to do with Babar’s trade. Our team’s owner made that choice. He was the one who traded him this year after giving him the captaincy the previous year. As franchisees, our only responsibility is to win games; nothing else “explained Imad.
The all-around player talked openly about last season’s games while Babar served as captain.
“Every captain has a unique leadership style. I think that as captain, especially in T20 cricket, you need to be aggressive. I will do all in my power this year to keep leading my squad from the front and win the championship, “said he.
The all-rounder rejected the idea that Zalmi and Karachi Kings are bitter rivals.
“We have no animosity for Peshawar. Although it is solely between the cities and not between the players, there is competition between Karachi and Lahore. And we honestly like that,” said he.
Otherwise, we view every team as a challenge since, as professionals, we are expected by our franchise to secure victories.
