In order to fulfill his earlier commitment as a local TV channel pundit for the forthcoming Pakistan Super League season, former Pakistan cricketer Kamran Akmal has chosen to step down from his position as a national selector (PSL).
A member of the senior men’s selection panel as well as the head of the junior selection committee, Akmal recently announced his retirement from all forms of cricket.
Akmal apologized for his choice but said that the PCB’s conflict of interest guideline and his ongoing agreement with a private television network for the HBL PSL 8 obliged him to step down from the selector position.
He further stated that the PCB will be in charge of deciding how to use his skills after he had informed them of his availability after completing his media obligations.
According to reports, the Pakistan Cricket Board has acknowledged Akmal’s predicament and approved of his choice.
