PSL 2023 Exhibition Match: Quetta Gladiators beat Peshawar Zalmi in last over thriller by 3 runs

Quetta Gladiators beats Peshawar Zalmi in last over thriller in Exhibition Match

Zalmi were limited to 181-7 in 20 overs when they needed to score 185 runs to win.
After reaching 109-1 in 10 overs, it looked as though Zalmi would easily win the match at the halfway point.
The tail part of the innings saw Quetta pick up wickets at regular intervals to halt their opponent’s progress.

Mohammad Haris, who played some incredible smashes as the opener, had the highest total with 53 runs in 35 balls.
The bowler of choice for Quetta was Mohammad Hasnain, who finished with figures of 3-30 in four overs.
In the meantime, Naseem Shah held off nine runs in the final over to help his team win.
Iftikhar Ahmed had earlier set Peshawar Zalmi a target of 185 runs during the exhibition game in Quetta, scoring an excellent fifty.

Babar Azam, the captain of Zalmi, chose to bowl first after winning the toss.
Wahab Riaz, a seasoned bowler, gave Zalmi the perfect start by getting rid of Ahsan Ali and Umar Akmal in the second over of the innings, but Quetta came back to compile a respectable total.
Shahid Afridi and Babar Azam scored 25 and 23 runs, respectively.

In the last over of the innings, Ahmed hit Riaz for six sixes to ensure that Quetta ended on a high note. The right-hander had 94 runs in 50 balls and was still unbeaten.
Khushdil Shah, batting in the middle order, scored 36 runs in 24 balls, while Abdul Wahid Bangalzai, the first hitter, scored 28 runs in 19.

Sarfaraz Ahmed, the captain of Quetta, only managed to score four runs before being dismissed by Aamir Jamal.
Riaz took three wickets but gave up 47 runs in all four of his allotted overs.
