The most recent information on calls made to Punjab’s emergency helpline number 15, for June 2023, was released by the Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA). The data provided insight into the type and volume of calls the helpline received.
The emergency helpline received a startling 2,865,198 calls. However, a sizeable percentage of these calls—1,748,278 or roughly 61 percent—were deemed irrelevant. On the other hand, the Dispatch Control Center opened cases for further action after determining that 229,426 calls had legitimate concerns.
Additionally, a sizable portion of the calls—47,258 in total—included inquiries about information and consulting services. Additionally, 10,577 calls were placed to the city traffic police and traffic management to request assistance.
This month, the PSCA Lost and Found center made significant strides, leading to the recovery of 83 motorcycles, 5 vehicles, and 8 people. This demonstrates PSCA’s dedication to making sure that lost items are recovered safely and that families of missing people are reunited with their loved ones.
The Punjab Safe Cities Authority’s disclosure of these statistics demonstrates the organization’s commitment to openness as well as its ongoing efforts to deliver efficient emergency services and uphold public safety.
