A very pregnant mother-to-be discovered dead in an apartment has been identified as a local actress and singer, as police continue to search for a missing individual.
The death of a 35-year-old woman, identified as Marelle Sturrock, was discovered at the house in Glasgow’s Craigton neighbourhood yesterday morning.
After receiving a complaint about a missing individual, police hurried to Jura Street at 8.40 a.m.
Police Scotland has initiated an inquiry, stating that the death is being considered as unexplained.
Marelle is originally from Wick, Caithness.
The fatality has been related to an ongoing search for a missing individual at Mugdock Country Park, according to authorities.
A large-scale search is underway in Milngavie in East Dunbartonshire, with officers suspecting it is connected to the tragedy.
Officers were observed swarming the forest at 11 a.m. yesterday, along with a helicopter and dog units.
Images from the area show a big part of the park near an entrance cordoned off as the search continues. Officers are still on the scene at both locations today.
Officers attended and the body of a 35-year-old woman was found within.
“Her death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries remain ongoing. Officers have been carrying out extensive searches of Mugdock Country Park in relation to a missing person in the area.
“This is being treated as linked to the death at Jura Street and enquiries remain ongoing. Our thoughts are very much with everyone affected by this tragic incident.
“There is not believed to be any risk to the wider public but anyone with information or concerns can contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident 0904 of April 25.
“A police presence will remain at both locations as enquiries continue and anyone with information is also urged to speak to any of our officers.”
