Power Breakdown in Pakistan: A Extra High Tension (EHT) line trip that impacted the power supply caused a significant power outage that affected Karachi and other cities throughout the nation.
Six units were tripped as a result of a technical issue at Guddu Thermal Power Station, according to details.
The 832 megawatts of electricity that these six units were producing have been reduced to zero as a result of their trip.
Additionally, Guddu Thermal Power Station’s power supply to Sindh, Balochistan, and Punjab has been cut off.
After a further high-tension line tripped, the electricity supply was cut off, closing more than 30 grids.
Gulshan-e-Maymar, FB Area, Liaquatabad, SITE, Superhighway, North Karachi, North Nazimabad, Surjani Town, Gulshan, Shah Faisal, and Malir all experienced power outages.
Additionally without power were Orangi Town, Baldia, Saddar, Safora Chowrangi, Scheme 33, and the adjacent districts.
According to the WAPDA Executive Engineer, Sindh is currently facing a complete power outage as a result of the failure.
Due to the power failure, various districts in Punjab and Balochistan are also experiencing power outages.
