Ishaq Dar, the finance minister, stated on Sunday that it was likely that the national flag carrier would start flying again to the UK in October.
The finance minister claimed, in remarks made during a Senate hearing, that the government had passed several pieces of legislation relating to safety and regulation, bringing them into compliance with global aviation standards.

After being approved, the legislation, according to the finance minister, will open the way for the resumption of flights to the UK. He emphasized that Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) had 59 billion rupees in revenue from its flight operations to the UK, but that this revenue dried up after the ban.
The minister emphasized that the airline is losing a total of Rs. 71 billion in revenue annually as a result of the cancellation of flights. In 2020, PIA was prohibited from operating flights to European nations.
The nation’s flag carrier should be able to resume flights to the UK within the next three months, after which flights to other EU nations and the US will also be resumed, according to recently-appointed aviation minister Khawaja Saad Rafique.
