Following her appearance during the monarch’s burial, one of the Queen‘s favourite ponies has been featured in a new photograph issued by Buckingham Palace.
As the coffin was driven through on the way to Windsor Castle, the fell pony known as Emma stood beside the Long Walk.
Alongside Terry Pendry, the bride of the Queen, she stood amidst floral tributes.
Over the previous 15 years, the late monarch rode the black pony about the castle grounds for some moderate exercise.
Emma was once referred to as a “great servant to Her Majesty” and one of her favourite horses of all time by groom and manager Mr. Pendry, who bowed his head as the coffin passed.
The pony, whose full name is Carltonlima Emma, will still be cherished and well-cared for at the Royal Mews in Windsor, according to Buckingham Palace.
On September 19, the Queen was buried with a private family burial, a state funeral, and a military procession.
Emma watched the coffin procession as it passed her as it travelled to Windsor Castle for a committal service after the funeral at Westminster Abbey in London.
Grooms from the Royal Mews in Windsor stood behind Emma to show their respects while sporting black armbands.
