The Federal Government is expected to lower petrol prices in Pakistan for the next two weeks beginning 1 June 2023, providing much-needed respite to the beleaguered people who is bearing the weight of historic inflation.
According to media sources, the price of petrol in Pakistan would likely fall by Rs. 10-12 per litre in the next two weeks, while the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) may fall by Rs. 4-5 per litre in the first half of June.
However, after consulting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and other authorities will make the ultimate decision.
The Federal Government decreased the price of petrol in Pakistan by Rs. 12 per litre during the past fortnight’s review, while the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) was dropped by Rs. 30 per litre.
