Details indicate that the new petroleum pricing will be determined by the oil prices on the global market as of September 29.
But if the government decides to keep the petroleum levy in place, only then will the price of gasoline and diesel in Pakistan be able to decrease (PL).
According to estimates, we can anticipate a decrease of Rs. 5 per litre for gasoline and Rs. 15 per litre for diesel if the government maintains the PL.
It is important to note that the government must raise the gasoline charge to Rs. 50 per litre in accordance with a deal with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
For gasoline and diesel, the current petroleum levy rates are Rs. 37 per litre and Rs. 7.50, respectively.
