Late Wednesday, the federal government announced another increase in the price of petroleum products. Diesel prices have now reached an all-time high as a result of the increase.
According to a Finance Division notification, the price of petrol has increased by Rs. 5 to Rs. 272 per litre, while the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) has increased by Rs. 13 to Rs. 293 per litre.
It is worth noting that during the previous fortnightly review, the government reduced the price of petrol by Rs. 5 per litre while keeping the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) unchanged.
The government also reduced the price of kerosene oil by Rs. 15 per litre and light diesel oil by Rs. 12 per litre.
The new prices will come into effect from 12am (tonight, March 16) and remain in place till March 31.
