The final image of the legendary Brazilian football player PELE, who passed away at age 82, has been revealed by PELE’S daughter.
Devastated After losing her father, a sporting hero, Kely Nasicmento spoke of her suffering.
Pele had been undergoing therapy for a colon tumour, but he stopped responding to the medication.
Now it is established that he has passed away.
Tonight, Kely shared a picture of her family holding Pele’s hand while he was lying in a hospital bed on Instagram.
After being admitted at the end of November, he has been receiving care at the Albert Einstein Israelite Hospital in Sao Paulo.
“Thanks to you, we are everything we are,” she wrote.
“We love you infinitely. Rest in peace.”
Kely, who had posted before Christmas that members of Pele’s family would spend the holiday period in the hospital with him, added three heartbroken emojis.
Yesterday she shared an emotional post saying her family was enduring “sadness and despair”.
She shared a photo of herself with Octavio Felinto Neto and Gabriel Arantes, the grandkids of Pele and her sister Flavia.
These times are challenging to explain, Kely added. Sometimes we laugh and talk about enjoyable experiences, and other times there is a lot of grief and hopelessness.
“And what we learn most from all this is that we have to look for each other, and hold tight. Only when it’s all worth it. With it all together.”
She said: “To see our dad being treated by these care professionals, super competent and extremely caring.
“Not a moment goes by that we forget this privilege. Even in sadness we can only be thankful.”
Pele, known as The King, was the only player in football history to win three World Cups with Brazil between 1958 and 1970.
A Guinness World Record has been established for his incredible total of 1,279 goals in 1,363 games, which included friendly.
He set a record by scoring 77 goals in 92 games for the national team, which Neymar recently tied at the World Cup.
Pele made a big entrance at a young age.
