A lady who was providing counseling to a 13-year-old kid has admitted having sex with him.
After being exposed on a three-way call between the boy’s mother, the police, and Payton Shires, it is said that she confessed. After the boy’s anxious worried mom reported the incident in September, investigators discovered the distressing video of her apparently having sex with the kid.
According to reports from ABC6, Shires, 24, of Mount Sterling, Ohio, was charged by Columbus Police with engaging in unlawful sexual activity with a juvenile. When the boy’s mother discovered text exchanges between the counselor and her son, who was receiving counseling, she started to accuse Shires of predatory behavior.
On September 27, his mother called the police after she saw a message asking the youngster if he had “deleted the videos” and if anyone had seen them. They allegedly had intercourse at least twice in various Columbus locales, according to detectives.
Shires apparently admitted to having a sexual relationship with the youngster during a three-way call that was set up by the officers, the boy’s mother, and Shires.
Shires was then placed in custody, and according to the police, additional accusations against the social worker may be filed in the upcoming days. Shires’ mug image was made public, and according to state records, the National Youth Advocate Program, where she had previously worked, gave her a counseling license on June 12, 2023.
“Protecting children is everyone’s responsibility,” program representatives said in a statement. “The National Youth Advocate Program (NYAP) is saddened by the situation involving one of our former employees and a young person served by our organization.
“NYAP has reported the situation to Franklin County Children Services (FCCS) and is collaborating with them and the Columbus Police Department on this case.”
The accused, who is being held at the Franklin County Corrections Center, appeared in court on Friday before being bailed by Judge Mike McAllister for more than £400,000 ($500,000).
