The latest in a string of suspicious-looking “suicides” has been discovered: a Russian CEO dead on the balcony of his Moscow residence.
Pavel Pchelnikov, 52, a PR manager for the Russian Railways, was found shot dead at his house in the green Kolomenskaya Embankment neighbourhood early Wednesday.
He is now at least the tenth prominent Russian to pass away in enigmatic circumstances since Putin invaded Ukraine in February.
In the weeks prior to his passing, he posted happy photos of himself on vacation to social media.
A early inquiry found that Pchelnikov had murdered himself, but gave no details and did not explain his motive. A thorough investigation is in progress.
Oil tycoon Ravil Maganov, 67, died on September 1 after falling from a Moscow hospital’s sixth storey window.
Although it has not been officially confirmed, one source claims that the chairman of Lukoil, the second-largest oil business in Russia, was “beaten” before being “thrown out of a window.”
