Pakistan Railways has formed a joint venture with two Chinese businesses to use information technology to enhance its services. In accordance with this cooperative agreement, Pakistan Railway will soon introduce the RABTA app, which would let users purchase tickets online. RABTA, the abbreviation for Railway Automated Booking & Travel Assistance, is the name of the Pakistan Railways mobile application.
Customers can purchase tickets, meals, hotels, and even transportation to and from the station using the Pakistan Railways app. Customers will be able to check train schedules and book shipments through it as well. Customers frequently receive discounts from businesses if they utilise their applications, however the railways minister stated that purchasing a ticket using the Pakistan railways app will incur a fee.
RABTA, an app for the Pakistani railways that is being developed with the Chinese under the terms of a revenue-sharing agreement, has the potential to dramatically enhance the railroads’ operations.
In the meantime, Pakistan Railways increased train fares on February 1 by 8%, with the exception of the Green Line, due to a rise in gasoline prices. A representative for Railways claimed that the recent increase in diesel prices cost the organisation Rs. 10 million per day, which caused the tariff increase.
