Islamabad, the Potohar region, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, and northern and western Baluchistan are predicted to have rain with snowfall over the mountainous areas over the course of the next 24 hours.
In Murree, Galliyat, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, northern Balochistan, and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, moderate to heavy rain and snowfall are anticipated over the projected period. In plain parts of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and upper Sindh, dense fog is anticipated to dissipate.
The synoptic situation predicted that a westerly wave that was hitting western sections of the country would likely grasp upper and western regions in the following 24 hours and would linger in upper parts from January 11 to 13.
The PMD has informed the relevant authorities of the potential effects of the upcoming two days of rain.
From January 11 to 13, areas in Murree, Galiyat, Naran, Kaghan, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Shangla, Astore, Hunza, Skardu, Neelum valley, Bagh, Poonch, and Haveli may see traffic disruptions and closures as a result of significant snowfall.
It is not impossible that landslides could occur in Gilgit Baltistan, Kashmir, and Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Visitors are urged to exercise additional caution throughout the time.
The standing crops would benefit from the rain, especially in areas of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Throughout the projected period, the hazy conditions are likely to clear off. It’s expected that temperatures will drop dramatically both during and after the spell.
The majority of the country has experienced cold, gloomy weather over the past 24 hours, with Kalam recording just 2 millimetres of rain.
