As moist currents are permeating the top portions of the country and are likely to continue for the next 4 to 5 Days, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted heavy rain in the upper and central parts of Pakistan in its most recent weather update.
The PMD added that a westerly wave is also likely to enter the upper parts of the country on 11th September 2022.
According to the weather update, Met Department says that there are chances of rain-wind/thundershower (with isolated heavy falls) in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Buner, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Malakand, Bajaur, Peshawar, Mardan, Charsadda, Swabi, Nowshera, Kurram, Kohat, Waziristan, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sheikhupura, Mianwali, Khushab, Sargodha, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Jhang and Faisalabad from 10th to 14th September, while Bhakkar, Layyah, D.G Khan and Muzaffargarh on 13th and 14th September with occasional gaps.
According to the statement, rain, wind, and thundershowers are predicted for Tharparkar, Umarkot, Sanghar, Mirpurkhas, Thatta, and Badin from September 10 through the 14th, as well as Lasbella, Kalat, and Khuzdar on September 13 and 14, with sporadic breaks.
Rainfall over the expected period may cause landslides in Kashmir, hilly portions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Galiyat, and Murree.
