According to a private weather forecasting business, the Western Disturbance and Enhanced Monsoon Currents are projected to have an impact on Pakistan’s weather, causing thunderstorms to form over sizable portions of the nation.
Strong thunderstorms are likely to be present today in the Northern Areas, covering roughly 70–80% of the area. Residents, especially in the Gilgit and Azad Kashmir Regions, should be prepared for significant rains in some locations, accompanied by windstorms and occasional hail.
Moving into Punjab, the central and southern regions of the area are expected to experience severe to heavy thunderstorms from late afternoon into the night. Heavy rainfall occurrences should be anticipated in cities like Multan, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Okara, Rahimyar Khan, Sahiwal, Shorkot, Jampur, and their adjacent districts. Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Sialkot, Gujranwala Divisions, and surrounding areas are also predicted to experience thunderstorm development.
Further thunderstorms are likely in Balochistan’s Quetta, Ziarat, Zhob, Sibbi, and surrounding areas. In the late afternoon and evening, extremely powerful thunderstorms are predicted to form over the Kirthar and Koh e Suleiman Range, with Bela, Uthal, Dhureji, Sonmiani, Gadani, Hub, and nearby places at risk of being affected.
In Sindh, the districts of Sukkur, Larkana, Dadu, Gorakh Hills, Qambar Shahdadkot, Dadu, Jacobabad, Shikarpur, Kashmore, Sukkur, Khairpur, and Ghotki as well as the Mirpurkhas and Hyderabad Divisions are expected to have moderate to sporadic intense thunderstorms. The weather in Karachi is predicted to be largely cloudy, warm, and humid.
Thunderstorms, similar to the previous night, may form over the Kirthar Range, which could lead to dusty winds and a little drizzle or shower activity in the city at night.
