LAHORE: Pakistan Railways has announced that eight more express trains will resume running to Rohri after being delayed for weeks due to the disastrous monsoon rains that caused flooding in the Sindh province.
From Peshawar, Lahore, Faisalabad, and Rawalpindi to Rohri, eight trains would be permitted to run, according to Railways. Allama Iqbal Express, Business Train, Green Line, Tezgam, and Jaffar Express were among the trains, as were the Karachi Express, Karakoram Express, Fareed Express, and Business Train.
The train service between Nawabshah and Khairpur will continue to be interrupted. Following extensive floods in some areas of the province on August 26, the train operations out of Karachi are still impacted.
As the flood waters in Sukkur receded, Railways announced on Thursday that train service on the Sukkur-Lahore route would resume on September 10.
The Lahore-Sukkur route will reportedly resume operations, according Pakistan railway officials. Additionally, routes to Rohri from Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Peshawar would be reinstated by September 10.
According to a Pakistan Railways announcement, the Khyber Mail would leave Rohri station at the scheduled hour of 5:45 am. To go to Peshawar, the train would stop through Multan, Lahore, and Rawalpindi.
