As of 12 AM on September 2, 2023, all freight rates will increase by 5% overall, according to a statement from Pakistan Railways.
Pakistan Railways stated in a letter that this increase would apply to all goods traffic and that the total freight would be rounded off as usual. However, the Cargo Express 501Up/502Dn and 503-Up/504-Dn will not be affected by this increase.
The staff at all railway stations must adhere strictly to the aforementioned instructions, and traffic inspectors and other pertinent officials are responsible for ensuring this.
Additionally, a new goods rates table that displays the estimated rate per ton for distances up to 5,000 kilometers is in the process of being created.
Through the Divisional Superintendents, copies of this table will be distributed to all stations that are available for booking goods traffic.
