An indefinite shutdown of distribution has been announced by the Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association (PPDA). The association will go on strike on Saturday, July 22, 2023, starting at 6 AM.
The association is experiencing crushing losses as a result of the rising sales of gasoline and diesel that are being smuggled from Iran, according to the official notice released by PPDA Chairman Abdul Sami Khan.
The notice also states that the association wrote to Musadik Malik, the minister of petroleum, to raise this and other concerns. However, the association’s complaints received no response from the minister.
Problems will arise for the general public as a result of the nationwide closure of the gasoline supply. It is advised that people fill up their cars with gas through Friday night, July 21. According to the association, the protest will continue until the petroleum ministry takes meaningful action to address the problem.
