According to a study by World of Statistics, an organization funded by the Georgia State University Department of Mathematics and Statistics, Pakistan has the highest prevalence of diabetes in the world.
The study examined data from 38 countries and found that Pakistan has a prevalence rate of diabetes of 30.8%. With a diabetes incidence of 24.9%, Kuwait came in second, followed by Egypt at 20.9%.
Health professionals from all over the world stress the value of regular exercise in preventing and treating conditions like diabetes. Unfortunately, Pakistan, the fifth-most populous nation, also sees a high rate of early deaths among people under 60 from chronic medical conditions.
Alarmingly, over a quarter of Pakistan’s adult diabetics go undiagnosed, underscoring the need for more funding and initiatives to address this problem.
However, according to statistics, Nigeria has the lowest prevalence of diabetes cases, with a rate of just 3.6%.
