When none of his 40 pupils showed up for class, a professor in the US was quite upset. It really did happen. A post regarding the same was shared on Twitter by the academic Joseph Mullins. Yet, are you interested in learning the cause of the pupils’ absence? Mullins was really seated in the incorrect room. Amusing, no?
On February 15, Joseph Mullins published a blog about the rib-tickling event. Out of 40 pupils, he said that none arrived for his lesson at 8:15 AM. While sitting in the empty room, he sent them an email because he was hurt. He received a response in just two minutes, letting him know that he had been seated in the incorrect room the entire time.
“Today, nobody showed up to my 8.15am class. 0 students of about 40. Sitting in the empty room, I email them, trying to disguise my hurt feelings. 2 mins later, I get a reply: “Professor, we think you might be in the wrong room.” So anyway off I go to live in a hole forever,” according to Joseph Mullins’s post caption.

My wife really wants me to mention that I was sleep deprived because I got up at 4am to play Dungeons and Dragons with my friends in Australia.

And yes she is also absolutely roasting me in every group chat about my decidedly not chill reaction to this blowing up.

Still another person said, “I’m crying. This is amazing.”
This is great. Were you in the correct building? Correct floor?

It must have been my first or second AEA meetings. I was walking through the lobby and met Oliver Williamson, who was chairing my session the following day.
I said:
"Hello Prof Williamson."
He answered:
"Where were you? We just had our session and waited for you for 15 minutes".— Luis Garicano 🇪🇺🇺🇦 (@lugaricano) February 16, 2023
Have you ever had the feeling that your students wish you had gone to the wrong room?

My prof heard someone's cell ringing and stopped class, landed back with crossed arms to wait for someone to shut it off. We all just sat there for 30-60 seconds until he said, "really? You're not going to turn it off?"
It was his phone. In his pants pocket.

This happened to me on my first try on an online book club. Everyone talked over me when I tried to speak. I was incensed and virtually stormed out. Later I realized I was on mute….😳
