After receiving liquid detergent instead of fruit juice at a restaurant in eastern China, seven patrons had to be taken to the hospital and have their stomachs pumped. According to the publication, the event happened on January 16 in the province of Zhejiang. Sister Wukong, one of the afflicted patrons, was dining at the establishment with her family and friends when a server presented a bottle that they all mistaken for fruit juice. After recognizing there had been a mistake and that their beverages had an odd flavor, the lady said in a video, which she later removed from social media, that she and six other individuals were sent to a hospital to have their stomachs pumped.
In an emergency, doctors can swiftly empty the contents of your stomach via gastric suction, sometimes referred to as stomach pumping.
The clients were informed, according to SCMP, that a waitress with poor vision was to blame for the mix-up. All seven persons are in stable health, according to a police officer from the Xucun Police Station, and will subsequently seek compensation from the restaurant.
From her hospital bed, Ms. Wukong was cited by the source as stating, “Let me show you all these people lying here. The seven of us dined together and had to have our stomachs pumped.” She stated that when her husband had the first drink, he told the group it tasted harsh. “I took one sip and swallowed. My throat felt very bad immediately,” the lady continued.
Later, the waitress admitted that her inexperience and eye condition were to blame for the mistake, according to SCMP. “She told us she doesn’t normally work for the restaurant and was just helping out for the day”, according to Ms. Wukong.
It was also noted by the source that it is unknown what sort of floor cleaning was offered to the visitors. However, a search on the Chinese internet market turned up many kinds of floor cleaners that had orange juice-like packaging. People who don’t know those languages mistake the packaging, which is typically printed in other languages, for another type of product.
