The list of phones that will get Oppo’s upcoming significant OS update has reportedly been confirmed. Up to 11 Oppo mobile devices are anticipated to receive an update to Android 14. Owners of the Oppo Find N2 Flip and a few other smartphones currently have access to the Android 14 Beta 2 release. Google has already started rolling out the Android 14 Beta 3 update to some Pixel phone owners who have signed up for beta testing, even though the stable version of the Android 14 update won’t be available for several months.
Oppo Benelux has reportedly confirmed that 11 smartphones will receive the Android 14 update, according to a report by DroidApp (in Dutch). According to the report, the Oppo Find X3 Pro will be the first device from the Chinese smartphone manufacturer to receive the Android 14 update. The Oppo Find X3 Lite and Find X3 Neo phones, which debuted as a part of the same series, are not likely to receive the upcoming OS update from Oppo. Also rumored to receive the Android 14 update are some of the Oppo A-series smartphones, the Oppo Reno 7 series, and newer models.
The Oppo Reno 8 series, which consists of the Oppo Reno 8T, the Find X5 series, the Oppo A57, Oppo A77, Oppo A78, and the Oppo A98, is also included in the list provided by the publication. Notably, Oppo hasn’t yet officially announced the Android 14 rollout schedule.
Google debuted Android 14 at Google I/O, and the company recently released the Android 13 Beta 3 update to a select group of Pixel phones, including the brand-new Pixel 7a. This update gives users a sneak peek at features that will be available on devices that receive the Android 14 update. The most recent Android 14 Beta 3 update includes new animation support in gesture navigation, non-linear font scaling, privacy improvements, including limited access to photos and videos, and other features.
As part of the Android 14 Beta 2 update, the company has also disclosed additional Android 14 features, such as a restriction on the ability to show full-screen notifications for apps by default, with the exception of calling and alarm apps and data safety notifications. While the stable version of Android 14 will be formally released by the company later this year, eligible users can install the Android 14 Beta on their respective smartphones and access these features.
