Oppo appears to be working on a successor to its second horizontally folding smartphone, the Find N2. The Find N2, like the Find N, was only available in Oppo’s home market. The new foldable dubbed the Oppo Find N3 for the time being is expected to include a larger display, a larger battery, and Qualcomm’s latest processor. The source also hinted at the design of the upcoming smartphone without going into specifics.
Multiple details of an upcoming Oppo foldable phone codenamed the Find N3, have been leaked by a tipster Digital Chat Station. The Oppo Find N3’s first set of specifications has just become publically available, and this is also the first time we’ve heard anything about the actual device since Oppo just recently released the Find N’s replacement in December of last year.
The upcoming device, according to the tip, will have a larger 8-inch inner display with a resolution of 2,268 x 2,440 pixels. It will also have a 120Hz refresh rate on the screen. The new display appears to be an upgrade over the existing model, as it has a higher resolution and is larger in size. The source does not go into specifics about the Find N3’s design, only saying that it will be “ultra-thin,” which would be a welcome improvement over the current phone’s thicker form factor when folded.
In terms of the processor, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC is anticipated. The RAM and storage have not been discussed in any detail. We do receive information about the camera on the foldable. Like the previous model, the Find N3 is rumored to have two selfie cameras, but the new one will have a 30-megapixel camera on the inner display and a 20-megapixel camera on the outer display.
According to the tipster, the rear panel will include a 50-megapixel (Sony IMX890) primary camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 48-megapixel (Sony IMX581) ultra-wide camera, and an L07D1W22 periscope camera. According to a recent tip from the same source, the periscope camera appears to be the same as on the unreleased OnePlus foldable.
Details about the Oppo Find N3’s battery are also available. The phone is expected to have a 4,805mAh battery, which is slightly larger than the 4,520mAh unit found in the previous model.
According to an earlier report based on the same source, OnePlus’ foldable will be unique. However, there are some similarities between the display and camera components used in both of these unreleased smartphones. Because all of the above information is based on rumors, we advise our readers to take it with a grain of salt.
