We’ve all taken a trip on the Railways at some point or another. Several of us have also felt repulsed by the train’s filthy exterior, which is the result of pollution and bad weather. Due to this, the Railways Ministry today tweeted a then-and-now comparison of the train cleaning mechanism.
The top portion of the footage that was uploaded to the microblogging website shows how trains were cleaned a few years ago. The man is seen using a cloth and water to physically wash the train. The automatic railway coach washing facility may be seen in the lower portion of the video, where it is now in service. The train can be seen moving past a line of towering scrubbers that clean the train’s exterior of grime.
“From hand press to systematic switch,” according to the post caption.

Do you have any machines to long running trains for cleaning inside the boggy? After 8 hrs train journey the boggy would be trash and cant travel with bad smells. pls consider inside the cleanliness also mandatory for travel.

I had been a frequent railway traveller between 2005 to 2015. Have seen that kind of coach/rake cleaning during that period (which you are claiming it as a present day or newly adopted practice/method). 😁😁

Good automation but one question, the boogies are moving forward slowly as one can observe, what is moving them? The engine? If yes how much is the expenditure in using the engine for this? Just asking

Automation of toilets would also be a good beginning. Caricature/cartoon videos of how to use toilets should be displayed in all coaches. Basic etiquettes when using toilets, for eg: ensuring it is clean for use for the next passenger. Common courtesy is missing in these areas.

Another person commented, “Great!! I wonder why it took so many years to implement this.”
