It has been found that a mother who lost her third child and her father when her family was struck by a car was also pregnant.
In Ramsgate last month, a black Alfa Romeo struck and killed Noga Sella, 37, and Yoram Hirshfield, 81.
Her two kids and spouse also suffered injuries.
In an effort to find any witnesses to the occurrence, the family has now disclosed that Mrs. Sella was five weeks pregnant at the time of her death.
On August 10, about 9.35 p.m., the tragedy occurred in Leopold Street as the family was making their way back to their hotel from a meal out in the city.
The family has expressed gratitude to everyone who provided assistance at the time and to those who have come forward subsequently. They also urged anyone who has not yet spoken to authorities to do so, even if they believe their information is unimportant.
The family had been eating dinner together in the hours preceding the tragedy, according to testimony presented at the coroner’s court last month at County Hall in Maidstone.
They were struck by a car as they were crossing the street from a Travelodge back to their hotel.
At the inquest, it was revealed that Mrs. Sella had suffered numerous grave wounds.
Sadly, the mother-of-two from Cambridge passed away at the site despite the efforts of rescue responders.
Last month, he made a videolink appearance at Canterbury Crown Court, where he entered a not guilty plea to all counts.
The date of the preliminary trial has been fixed on November 28.
In addition, two other people, ages 58 and 55, were detained on suspicion of aiding an offender and having class A drugs with the purpose to provide them.
Since then, both have been freed on bail pending additional investigations till tomorrow (Thursday).
One witness described seeing three fire trucks, five ambulances, and “at least 15 police cars” circling Leopold Street following the accident, according to KentOnline.
“There must have been about 50 emergency services people on scene that we could see,” they said.
A bench was taken from the scene and a section of Leopold Street was roped off for several hours.
A road sign was knocked on the ground and a wall was destroyed directly across from the entrance to the Royal Harbour multi-story parking garage.
The mayor of Ramsgate, Cllr. Raushan Ara, who owns a company in the neighbouring Harbour Street, expressed her condolences to the family the following day in response to the tragedy.
It’s really depressing, she remarked. Because there were so many police and ambulances last night, as well as fire engines that were running up and down till 11 p.m., I was terrified.
That evening, many gathered for a vigil at the tragedy’s site, and sympathisers left flower offerings.
