News Anchor Arshad Sharif Shot Dead in Kenya

Family sources and colleagues have confirmed journalist Arshad Sharif has been killed in Kenya. No more details available. He was in London a few days ago after arriving in the city from Dubai.

Local police have initiated a probe and are investigating the matter, the sources said.

He was recently seen in the trailer for a documentary titled “Behind Closed Doors”.

Who was Arshad Sharif?

Arshad Sharif was a Pakistani journalist, author, and TV host. He has covered numerous political events in the nation for national and international news organizations. He specialized in investigative journalism. He received the Pride of Performance award from President Alvi on March 23, 2019, in recognition of his work in journalism.

Power play on ARY News was hosted by Arshad Sharif. Arshad Sharif worked as the news director for AAJ News. He was the director of news and host of the programme Kyun at Dunya TV before joining Aaj. Politics and journalism are his main interests. He also reported on the Pakistani army’s frontline battles.

Arshad Sharif was born in Karachi, Pakistan, to Commander Muhammad Sharif TI(M) TK of the Pakistan Navy. While still a student, he started his freelance journalism career in 1993. At Quaid-i-Azam University in Islamabad, he earned a Master of Science in Public Administration.

Tributes pour in for Arshad Sharif

Following the news of Sharif’s death, condolences started pouring in from across the country.

PML-N leader Hina Pervaiz Butt extended heartfelt condolences on the demise of the journalist, while PTI leader Ali Zaidi also expressed his grief on the death of Sharif.
