Four years after she made a terrifying 911 call just before going missing, the body of a missing lady has been found and identified.
When Lauren Thompson made a troubling 911 call on January 10, 2019, she claimed she was in a forested location and thought someone was after her. Lauren Thompson was last heard from in Texas.
The skeletal remains of the 32-year-old mother of three were discovered in July, but the Panola County Sheriff’s Office only officially acknowledged their identity on Tuesday.
Police have not identified the site where the person was discovered, but they have noted that the remains appeared to have been there for some time.
Thompson called her mother “anxiously but coherently” eight minutes before she dialled 911, according to the missing person poster.
After Thompson’s phone died, authorities used cell phone tower pings to locate the location of the 911 call. They eventually discovered Thompson’s car in a ditch near Rock Hill.
Sheriff Cutter Clinton stated that forensic anthropologists, Texas Rangers, and detectives had been collaborating to identify the bodies for months.
Clinton continued, “Our office will diligently pursue all pertinent investigation leads.”
