Nerice Moyce, a 21-year-old from Suffolk, England, claimed she ordered delivery from a Subway nearby two Sundays ago and immediately realised something was off about her tuna sub.
Moyce, who is 17 weeks pregnant, was shocked to discover an enormous knife directly beneath her sandwich.
“I was with my partner and we got hungry. I am currently pregnant and always getting cravings so my partner went on his phone and ordered a Subway,” she told the Great Yarmouth Mercury. “I just opened it up and was like ‘hang on, what?’. We both sat there in shock.”
“My partner called Subway in Gorleston High Street and asked ‘have you lost one of your yellow knives. And he was like ‘Wait. Are you being serious, like actually?’” She recalled.
A video of the Subway order was uploaded by Moyce to her Facebook page. In the video, she raises her food to show the enormous knife that was sticking out from under her sandwich. Her Facebook buddies were eager to point out the potential risk in the scenario.
Good thing you didn’t cut yourself! Xanthe Staddon yelled.
Jill Lock stated that it was “responsible and dangerous how many others have found [knives] in under their food don’t take no bull from them.”
Moyce is relieved that no one was wounded, yet she speculated as to how the knife might have ended up in the wrong hands.
“Right away, my first thought was, “What if a young child or a teenager had found it. I’m grateful that it reached me, she remarked.
The knife is still in Moyce’s house, and Subway hasn’t apologised, according to her. She informed the Great Yarmouth Mercury that she had received a response from the Subway Instagram account promising that they would speak with the eatery and get back to her soon. The Post contacted Subway for a response.
