For students over the age of 18, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has announced an exciting opportunity. The NDMA has planned a national art competition that includes painting, photography, and short films under the Pakistan Expo on Disaster Risk Reduction (PEDRR-23).
The purpose of this event is to inspire and promote disaster risk reduction in Pakistan among Pakistani youth. The chance to win cash prizes and recognition for exceptional contributions will be available to participants. The deadline for submissions is July 8, 2023.
Painting Competition:
Young artists of all genders have a platform thanks to the painting competition. Participants can make a difference in Pakistan’s “Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR)” field by expressing their creativity through art. The following winners of this competition will receive cash prizes:
- First Place: Rs. 100,000
- Second Place: Rs. 75,000
- Third Place: Rs. 50,000
Submission Guidelines:
The artwork can be produced digitally, on canvas, with oil, or with watercolors. A3-sized artwork is appropriate. For their artwork, participants may select from the following thematic categories:
- Pakistan’s Adaptability to Natural Disasters and the Impact of Climate Change
- Disasters caused by humans (such as forest fires, pollution, and deforestation)
- Technology and DRR
- Enhancing Preparedness with Innovation
Short Film Competition:
Aspiring filmmakers can exhibit their talent and originality in this competition. The following are the top achievers’ cash awards:
- First Place: Rs. 100,000
- Second Place: Rs. 75,000
- Third Place: Rs. 50,000
Submission Guidelines:
Filmmakers are required to produce a 30- to 45-second short film that focuses on one of the themes mentioned earlier.
Photography Competition:
The NDMA offers photographers the chance to document the resilience and beauty of people and nature in the face of disasters. The following monetary awards will be given to top photographers:
- First Place: Rs. 100,000
- Second Place: Rs. 75,000
- Third Place: Rs. 50,000
Submission Guidelines:
Participants should send in A4-sized photos that focus on one of the aforementioned thematic areas.

Plagiarism will disqualify any content that is submitted; all submitted material must be original. Exclusive copyright ownership of the submitted content shall belong to NDMA. Both participants’ ages and enrollment status in an educational institution must be at least 18 years old.
