Prosecutors have reported that the irrational Tesla driver who is accused of launching himself out of his car and ramming into oncoming vehicles in Southern California with a metal pipe has been taken into custody.
A Major Crimes Unit member from the Southern division of the California Highway Patrol apprehended Nathaniel Radimak, 36, on Sunday in Torrance.
According to Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón, he entered a not guilty plea on Tuesday to four charges each of assault with a deadly weapon intended to cause serious bodily harm and criminal threats, as well as one felony count of vandalism.
In addition, Radimak is charged with two charges of misdemeanour vandalism and one case of criminal elder abuse.
“The victims in this case were reasonably terrified by what they experienced, but this reign of terror ends today,” Gascón said in a statement. “Motorists in Los Angeles shouldn’t have to live in fear of being attacked while simply driving on the freeway.”
According to the prosecution, on January 11, Radimak hit a car on the 2 Freeway with a pipe.
In a video captured by the victim of the incident, a man described as Radimak, wearing a green T-shirt, dark jeans, and a black mask, climbs out of a charcoal-colored 2022 Tesla Model X with no licence plates and starts beating on the truck behind him.
The maniac with the road rage gets back in his car and speeds off after a few blows.
At first, you question whether you should use your car to tether him to the wall. Should I trample him? Last month, the victim asked the station KTLA, “What should I do? And I made an effort to maintain my concentration by saying, “I don’t know.
Additionally, Radimak is under investigation for allegedly assaulting another driver in a road rage incident that happened in Hollywood back in January 2020.
Radimak allegedly had steroids and more than $30,000 in cash when his car was searched in connection with that case, according to the district attorney’s office. He was accused of violence and one misdemeanour count of possession with intent to sell a controlled drug.
This Wednesday, Gascón’s office requested a judge to imprison Radimak because of “his lengthy criminal past, which spans over two decades and transcends many states and jurisdictions.” Radimak was classified as a flight risk and a danger to the community.
