Ramiz Raja is expected to be replaced as PCB Chairman by Najam Sethi as the Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif reportedly demanded significant reforms to the system.
Following his election as prime minister, Shehbaz Sharif said that departmental cricket, which had been suspended by the previous leader Imran Khan, would resume across the nation.
However, PM Shehbaz had shown trust in Ramiz Raja, assuring him that he will continue his work in the position.
While it has been claimed that the PM has now ordered the restoration of the PCB 2014 Constitution, under which departmental cricket will once again be played, recent reports also indicate a significant change in the cricketing establishment.
There are rumours that PCB Chairman Ramiz Raja may step down and that former Chairman Najam Sethi has a good possibility of taking over as PCB’s leader again.
The reports are supported by the noteworthy fact that PM Shehbaz and former PCB Chairman Najam Sethi met in Lahore earlier today.
