The death of a British woman who was discovered dead on a walking path on a well-known Greek island is shrouded in mystery.
The 73-year-old tourist’s body was discovered in Kefalonia’s mountains.
Greek police searched for the woman’s British husband but were unable to find him.
According to the report, the 71-year-old showed up at the neighborhood police station this morning and provided a statement.
The two were lodged in a hotel in the seaside community of Sami. The woman’s body has been transported to Patras for a forensic investigation.
The death of the woman is the subject of an investigation by the Kefalonia Police Department.
Last month, a second British traveler was discovered dead in Greece while his terrified wife desperately dialed for assistance.
The 65-year-old passed away in the northern Greek village of Pelion, Horto, where the couple was vacationing.
Local media reports that the husband’s wife frantically dialed for assistance after discovering him dead in bed.
And in June, a British tourist was discovered unconscious in the water on a Greek beach. At the beach of Alykanas in Zante, other tourists helped the 64-year-old man get out of the water.
He was brought to the Zakynthos General Hospital, where doctors declared him dead. There was no lifeguard on duty at the time of the incident, according to ERT Zakynthos.
