The two children’s remains were discovered in bags today, and a woman has been detained on suspicion of killing them has maintained her innocence.

Following the discovery of the bodies in cases purchased at a Storage Wars-style auction in New Zealand, she shouted out “I didn’t do it” as police in South Korea paraded her with a jacket over her head.

It is believed that the child and girl were dead in the bags for four years until they were horrifyingly found by an unaware family in Auckland.

The South Korean-born New Zealander was detained at a residence in Ulsan, 190 miles to the southeast of Seoul, after police got a tip and put the woman under surveillance.

“I didn’t do it,” the woman said repeatedly, as she was led away and put into a police vehicle.

South Korea’s National Police Agency said officers arrested the woman “following a stakeout ” after being told of her whereabouts and gathering CCTV footage.

“The suspect is accused by the New Zealand police of having murdered her two children – aged seven and 10 at the time – in around 2018 in the Auckland area,” said the agency.

“She’s been found to have arrived in South Korea after the crime and has been in hiding ever since.”

The lady, who disputes the murder charges, was apprehended after international law enforcement organisation Interpol issued a red notice, according to the law enforcement organisation.

After the children were discovered on August 11 in Manurewa, Auckland, she has been accused of two charges of murder.

Within 45 days, New Zealand officials must send the South Korean Justice Ministry a formal request for her extradition.

In order to determine whether she would be transferred to New Zealand, the ministry will then decide whether to move through with an extradition review at the Seoul High Court.

Detective Inspector Tofilau Faamanuia Vaaelua stated: “NZ Police have requested she remain in jail while we complete the extradition procedure. NZ Police have petitioned to have her extradited back to New Zealand to face the charges.

“In the meantime, there is a number of inquiries to be completed both in New Zealand and overseas.”

The New Zealander, who was born in Korea, arrived in South Korea in 2018 and has not left the Asian nation since.

But according to the police, her husband passed away from cancer in 2017, according to Stuff.co.nz.

Both parties were from Seoul, South Korea, however the wedding took place in New Zealand.

Two kids, a boy born in 2012 and a girl born in 2009, were discovered in the cases.

A family in New Zealand who had won an abandoned storage container at auction came across their bodies while sorting through its contents.

Police were called to their Auckland property by the scared buyers after neighbours complained about an awful smell coming from the residence.

On August 12, a murder investigation was started, and authorities later revealed the family who discovered the bodies was unrelated to the fatalities.
