Prior to the PSL 8 season, Mohammad Amir stated that bowling to Babar Azam is similar to bowling to a tailender batter. He added that his sole goal is to take a wicket and that nothing else is important to him. Fans of Babar Azam and cricket perceived the statement as controversial.
Babar is not my ex-fiancé, so I won’t like him, Mohammad Amir recently clarified, adding that there is a shared understanding between the two of them.
Babar has been playing for five years, and we’ve never gotten into a physical altercation, Amir continued.
He added that he could only pray for their guidance for those who misinterpreted what he said.
He is a fantastic batter in Tests and ODIs, as I have always said. I have a different perspective on him in T20s. I don’t consider Babar to be a bowling threat in the T20 format, Amir said.
He added clarification to the claim via the YouTube channel, saying:
“I have called him the best batsman of Pakistan in all of my interviews, and I am saying it out loud. I have also stated numerous times that it is challenging to bowl against him in ODI and Test matches due to his technique. Would I then describe him as a tailender? I’ll make it clear to them now.”
