The Temporary Mobile Registration System was launched by Pakistan Telecommunication Authority today in a historic ceremony. Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.
By enabling them to register and use their personal mobile phones for up to 120 days starting from the date of their arrival, free of any duties or taxes, this initiative aims to make it easier for overseas Pakistanis and foreign nationals visiting Pakistan.
It was decided to create the Temporary Mobile Registration System after consulting with MoITT, FBR, and FIA. Visitors to Pakistan are welcome to use this facility whenever they are there.
By going to the PTA website, users can submit an online application.
In his speech, the Prime Minister emphasized the government’s dedication to offering all visitors top-notch connectivity options so they can stay connected while visiting Pakistan.
Syed Amin Ul Haq, the Federal Minister for IT and Telecom, said the following during the launch ceremony:
“We pledge to ensure and extend connectivity with ease and comfort to all those overseas Pakistanis and foreign nationals who are visiting Pakistan. We are devotedly working to provide smooth ICT services throughout Pakistan.”
Major General (R) Hafeez Ur Rehman, Chairman PTA, thanked the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), and Ministry of IT & Telecom (MoIT) for their invaluable assistance on this occasion.
He added that PTA has put in place a number of consumer-focused initiatives and legislative measures to guarantee the delivery of high-quality ICT services across the country.
