Ali Heibati, an MMA fighter, received a lifelong ban for his shameful actions on Friday night.
The Iranian fighter was part of the promotion for the Hard Fighting Championship. He fought Arkady Osipyan on Friday in Moscow as part of the Hardcore MMA competition.
A ring girl named Maria entered the cage to announce that the first round was going to start, only moments before the fight.
Heibati gave her an odd look and kicked out at her as she turned away from him to exit the cage.
When the bout finally started, Osipyan easily dispatched his obviously distressed opponent.
After hitting Heibati several times on the ground, the Russian managed to knock him out of the first round with barely over 30 seconds remaining.
After his victory, Osipyan turned to face his team, but before he could get away, Heibati attacked him, hitting a few ill-advised shots from behind.
It is puzzling that Heibati was let to remain in the cage after the outcome was properly declared.
The defeated fighter, obviously still enraged, took to the microphone after donning his glasses.
Then, letting his blind wrath get the better of him once more, he gave a pundit a high kick out.
After the bout, Heibati took to social media to apologise to the ring girl.
He wrote: “Hello everyone. This is for Maria. I didn’t act right with her.
“The reason was that before the MMA fight there were a lot of fistfights. I stayed there in the cage and I just wanted to go out and fight.
“I was tense and, as most understand, emotions flourish in the fight, so before the fight I acted badly towards Maria.
“I want to publicly apologise to her. I am a married man, so I respect the female gender.
“She was doing her job and I, after the fight, didn’t admit my guilt either, because they also hit me on the head. Tell Maria that I am sorry.”
His apology was not enough to keep his job, however, with the Hard Fighting Championship slapping him with a lifetime ban.
Heibati has experience fighting in kickboxing and boxing.
This was his first professional MMA fight, according to Tapology.
