In a case involving the alleged kidnapping of a girl from the Mithi’ss region of Kaloi and gang rape, the chief justice of the Sindh High Court has summoned the deputy superintendent of police (DIG) and senior superintendent of police (SSP) Tharparkar to provide a thorough report.
On September 22, along with the report, both officials must appear before the Sindh High Court (SHC).
A gang rape victim is said to have killed herself on Monday in the Tharparkar village of Mehran Soomro, which is part of Kaloi Town.
On late Sunday night, the victim’s body was sent to Taluka Hospital Dipol Town for a postmortem.
The girl was allegedly kidnapped five days ago by “unknown” individuals, who raped her before abandoning her at a remote location close to her village.
In her written police complaint, the victim claimed that she had been assaulted while travelling to Hyderabad to pick up the formal paperwork for her father’s pension, who had passed away a few months earlier.
