Local authorities said that Chloe Campbell, a 14-year-old Colorado girl who has been missing for ten days, had been located safe.
According to Boulder Police Chief Maris Herold, the adolescent was found approximately 5 p.m. at a residence in Thornton, Colorado. The juvenile was last seen leaving a high school football game on Sept. 30.
Police are looking into the teen’s whereabouts and what happened while she was away from her family, but they believe she ran away from home.
Her parents said that they were concerned for their daughter’s safety after receiving a frightening image of their daughter that appeared “damaged and ill” from an unidentified source.
According to Campbell’s family, authorities flagged Campbell as “at risk” because they thought the teen lacked access to money or her medication, which she needs to treat her medical and mental disorders.
Herold stated that Campbell will undergo a medical examination and be sent to the proper social service support resources.
There is no proof, according to Boulder’s deputy police chief Stephen Redfearn, that Campbell was in danger or was being detained against her will.
He stated, “We have no belief that she was detained against her will at this moment.
There is no proof, according to Boulder’s deputy police chief Stephen Redfearn, that Campbell was in danger or was being detained against her will.
“We have no belief at this time that she was held against her will,” he said.
Additionally, Campbell showed no outward indications of injuries when she was discovered in Thorton.
However, police collected evidence — through social media and reported sightings — throughout the week that suggested that Campbell was alive and well.
“We, however, had indications that she was alive throughout the week,” Redfearn said. “Police are relieved that she has been located.”
He said it is too early in the investigation to say if there will be any persons of interest related to the teen’s disappearance.
“There’s a lot we still need to piece together,” Redfearn said.
According to reports, Campbell was last seen with two males near Boulder High School, but he insisted that they weren’t thought to be responsible for her fleeing.
