Over the weekend, an ATV accident claimed the life of a 58-year-old man from Jackson Township, according to Lacey police.
Around 5:20 p.m., Mike D’Amore, a passenger on a 2019 Polaris Razor side-by-side off-road vehicle, hit a dirt embankment and became airborne while travelling through an open dirt section of Lacey Materials. On February 4th, local police reported.
According to investigators, the Polaris Razor’s front end hit the ground first and overturned numerous times. D’Amore was the only occupant of the car and was declared dead at the site as a result of his injuries.
“Always the first to offer a helping hand and guaranteed to be available for happy hour,” one person write. “Here’s to hoping there are motorcycles and puppies wherever you are.”
The Forked River Fire Department and RWJ Barnabas Paramedics were among the responding agencies. The Ocean County Medical Examiner’s Office and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department’s CSI Unit.
The Lacey Township Crash Team is still looking into the collision.
