As a result of the false reports, panic broke out Saturday night at the youth fair, resulting in a stampede that injured several people. There was also a large police presence. “We have received reports of an incident at the @miamiyouthfair.” These reports or threats to public safety lack credibility. As always, we urge our residents to be cautious. If you see something, report it. “Dial 9-1-1 immediately for emergencies,” Miami-Dade police tweeted.
Several social media users said that they were at the fair and heard shots. “There was a shooting at the Miami fair. I was there with friends. We saw people running. There were gunshots by the time we were out. We’re safe. I’m mildly injured. Cops everywhere. Ubering home. I’m safe. We’re safe,” one Twitter user, who was at the scene, said. “why do people gotta ruin shit with guns. shooting down at miami youth fair people running out and crying,” a Twitter user said.
According to initial reports, multiple shots were fired at the Fair Expo Center, which is located at 10901 SW 24th St in Miami, Florida. “At the time of this report, law enforcement agencies have not specified whether this is an active shooter incident or if the shots were fired at random.” Unconfirmed reports alleged that multiple persons has been injured as a suspect fired shots following an altercations at the Youth Fair,” the report further added.
