In a brand-new trailer, MEG Ryan has formally announced her return to acting.
Yesterday, the 90s legend’s most recent movie’s video was posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Meg, 61, teased her role in the romantic comedy What Happens Later for the first time on Instagram in May of last year by uploading a photo of the film’s poster.
David Duchovny, 63, who previously starred in The X-Files, appears with the When Harry Met Sally actor in the new trailer.
The distribution company Bleecker Street Films stated alongside the endearing trailer: “From the star of ‘When Harry Met Sally’ and ‘Sleepless in Seattle’ comes a new rom-com.
“What Happens Later is a swoon-worthy tale of old flames rekindled amidst the magic of missed connections, directed by Meg Ryan, and starring David Duchovny and Meg Ryan. Only on October 13 in theaters!”
While some fans were happy to see Meg back, others were more concerned with how she looked and attributed her new appearance to plastic surgery.
One commenter wrote: “I like that the title cards had to identify who Meg Ryan is and what she was in because no one recognizes her anymore.” beneath the trailer.
I can’t get over the fact that she doesn’t even look like herself anymore, a second remarked.
A third social media user criticized Meg’s plastic enhancements as “tragic.”
One commenter compared photos of Meg from the present to those from the past and questioned, “Good Lord what the hell did Meg Ryan DO to herself????” in another post.
“She used to be a stunning woman. Botox and facelifts destroyed her, not any more. Sad, a supporter retorted.
Someone else said, “Really bad cosmetic surgery.”
