For the longest time, epic, historical films were reduced to simple sword fights with little substance, but recently, there has been somewhat of a resurgence in interest in movies that take us back in time and give us a good understanding of how far human civilization has progressed. They depict a grim image of days gone by when men survived and perished by the sword. It would always be entertaining to watch a period with lots of grand vistas, palace intrigue, and romance.

He was one of only 7 generals in history to never lose a fight. The movie reveals more about how his religious views and political ambitions overlap while a budding romance with an unlikely hostage. He is seen in history as a man of honour who is driven by lofty moral principles.
