The Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC) on Thursday announced an extension of the MDCAT registration deadline to September 25.
The MDCAT‘s new date hasn’t yet been revealed, though.
The PMC announced that registrations for MDCAT 2022 would reopen on September 10 and be open through September 25, 2022. The MDCAT has a minimum HSCC requirement of 60%. According to the statement, the required minimum MDCAT score for BDS admission is 45% and the required minimum MDCAT score for MBBS admission is 55%.
“Nearly, 16,000 students were studying in foreign medical colleges, draining out Rs 50 billion annually,” said the minister.
They continued by saying that the goal of restarting the registration procedure is to assist the students who were unable to register for the test during the initial round.
In light of the nationwide destruction brought on by floods, the test was postponed indefinitely on September 7, according to Health Minister Abdul Qadir Patel.
Abdul Qadir Patel emphasised that the minimum percentage needed to apply for admissions to the MBBS programme had been lowered from 65 to 55 percent marks, and the minimum percentage needed for admission to the BDS programme had also been lowered from 55 to 45 percent marks.
