On Sunday, the National Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) was decided upon by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC). The council met for the second time under the direction of President Dr. Rizwan Taj to discuss a variety of topics, including the MDCAT and other relevant issues.
The meeting decided to keep the same course material from the prior year and set the MDCAT exams for August 27, 2023.
In order to protect the interests of the students, the council gave the go-ahead to all provincial secretaries to start MDCAT preparations. The board promised to consult with all interested parties ahead of the test in order to protect the privacy of the examinations.
The examinations were taken by about 204,259 students last year, and it is anticipated that about 210,000 students will take them this year. The council emphasized the significance of accommodating students’ needs while upholding the integrity of the merit-based system by taking the MDCAT paper’s difficulty into account.
The National University of Medical Sciences (NUMS) was given charge of overseeing admissions to all medical and dental institutions managed by the armed forces. The national MDCAT would be compared favorably to the admission test offered by NUMS.
